General • Re: Transfer data over wifi for pico for a high sampling rate

Thanks for your email. So using a pico to acquire the data and send it through usb to Pi5 is a good idea which gurantees no data lost between each second. I can later use the pi to transmit the data right?
I have bought a pi5 for that.
Pi4 is better! I don't know why but the usb serial on the Pi4 is faster. Maybe it is because I'm running bulleyes on the Pi4 and bookworm on the Pi5.

I got some missing samples running from the Pi5 on USB port. Didn't have any problem with the Pi4.

This is a table showing a 5 hours run and displaying missing frame. I don't know why I lost more than half of second near 3 hours.

Since I do have a 8G pi5 I will try to run a 4GByte ramdisk and see if the problem is the storage. On The Pi5 I'm using a USB3.0 memory stick which is way faster than the SDCard and because the Pi5 has independant USB port i thought that it won't have any conflict.

Also the Rust OS is a good alternative.

I'm investigating to add an SD card on the Pico and see how fast it could be as a backup not using rust but my current UDP/USB setup.
But i dont need sd card if I use the pi4/5 to send the data wirelessly to a pc right?
4gb/8gb ram should be enough.
Also, can i use raspberry pis own OS instead of RUST?
