Greetings!
I've had an . . . exciting. . . afternoon, the latest of several, trying to get Hypnotix, the IPTV viewer, to run on my fully updated RPi 5 8gb. This time it was via an appimage from hereand box64, which seems developed chiefly to allow x86 games to be played on arm64 devices.
I have seen no television, but I've seen a year's worth of segfaults. It is very efficient at generating those.
Even if it had run, I suspect it would have been kludgy and slow. I wouldn't have undertaken it but for other afternoons spent trying to get any .deb of Hypnotix to install, never mind run. I have installed many dependencies -- I could open a libxapp museum: I've collected the entire set but, apparently, for one -- and even installed a required package that is nothing but tiny icons of the flags of many nations. The next time I try to install a .deb, have it blow up, and doI expect to get the errorSo in desperation I thought I'd ask here if anyone has gotten Hypnotix, any version, to run under Raspberry Pi OS and, if so, how it was done.
