It is not a microcontroller.
It communicates internally over i2c (two of them) , to whatever (RP1 probably) and designed to be used with the mailbox setup for users.
It has never been provided*, nor are the PMIC documents available for how to talk to it directly bypassing 'Linux' .
The baremetal section may have a better idea for real time stuff.
*That I have seen.
