This is a Crowdstrike issue, exacerbated by Windows allowing it to have ring 0 access in the first place.

Pretty much blame the EU for making Windows "allowing it to happen".
They have to let them have it due to competitive rulings.
This is still in place for years ago, something Apple/Linux/Android/etc do not have to do.
(or so MS says...)
