I have the 3d printer but nothing else, so I would be starting with nothing, so I would need to get please
Welcome to the forums.

The general advice for starting out is to get the current top line Pi. At the moment, that is the Pi5 and is available in 4GB and 8GB models. They're a little thin on the ground at the moment, but if you hunt around you can probably find one. It is also recommended to use the official RPT PSU. Doing that will likely help you avoid all manner of potential issues.

Just as an example, I just checked Digikey. They have over 1700 4GB Pi5s in stock, but no 8GB Pi5s. General availability should get better next month.
