i didn't know about what should and should not work, so i tested all possibilities,what do you expect to get on Bookworm with KMS disabled?
Bookworm requires KMS. FKMS will not give you HW accelerated video.
i found a few posts about HW acceleration on PiZ2W + bookworm, but none was conclusive, so...
