You need a stepper. A continuous rotation servo has no control over angle. You can only control the speed and direction.
Well, for the sake of the OP let's assume the servo in question has encoders and he/she is making use of them.
So maybe the library - or whatever is used for sending the messages to that servo - is blocking it from doing more than 360°

Encoders can be added to steppers as well. One can buy motors that have them added already - and use them like servos (lol)
