I have been unable to get the SYNC_OUT pin in the CM5 IO board to work for either input or output. For input, this means attaching a PPS signal to the SYNC_OUT and then trying to read the external timestamp events (see https://github.com/jclark/rpi-cm4-ptp-g ... connection). For output, this means enabling periodic output (https://github.com/jclark/rpi-cm4-ptp-g ... pps-output) and then using an oscilloscope to detect a pulse on the SYNC_OUT pin. I tried two different IO boards and two different CM5 modules.
The problem appears to be with the CM5 IO board rather than CM5 itself. If I put a CM5 into a CM4 IO board, things work normally.
