OOC which threads?
I looked again and couldn't find them, but a couple of the threads sparked some heated disagreement over the PD spec. I get it, people invest a lot of time working to understand technical documents, and their interest in establishing a technically accurate record sometimes gets personal. I've found myself in those kinds of discussions before.
Over the years (since 2012) I've measured voltage "droop" w.r.t. to current drawn for a fair number of possible Pi PSU's and connecting cables etc. You may find them of interest:
Yeah, definitely! The plots showing a differential of 0.6 volts @ 3 amps between different USB3 cables are quite compelling. I'll make a point of testing the cable output under load. I'm hopeful that the "EPR" USB cables I've ordered will perform well - they'd better since they're marked up quite a lot over ordinary cables!

All of this makes me think back to the Best Buy "gold-plated Monster HDMI cable" that cost $100 and promised to deliver cleaner bits.
