General discussion • USB splitter cable or hub that can supply 1.5A

I have a Liteon DVD writer. On the back it claims 1.5A. I guess that's peak.
I could never use it on my Pi4 as it crashed the Pi under certain (undetermined) conditions.
It does the same on my Pi5. I have a standard Logitech mouse & keyboard attached to the 2 USB2 ports (as I did on my Pi4).
My Pi5 is running from NVME storage. The Pi4 ran off SD card.
My question. Is there a cable (mini USB - at the DVD end) that will split into two at the USB A end? I.e one USB A for power and one for just data.
I could homebrew, but I've messed with USB cables before and they are really thin wires inside.

I've checked powered hubs but the Pi compatible ones I've seen rate at 1.2A and state Pi3/4 compatibility but not Pi5. Unless anyone knows any different.
