Beginners • Re: Raspberry Pi Connect and Clock Sync

Your Pi's clock is recent to a default time every boot.
If you disable the sync, this never gets corrected.
If it is not corrected, many security features can stop working, which ones I don't know. The same can happen on Windows.
At least that is my belief.*
(Pretty sure some of my security certificates would fail)

I assume one part of Connect uses a security feature that needs the time to be correct.

If you're not using Connect as the GUI for the User, then you may want to devise a way to have it set (maybe even with the RTC), and then the User can change it when needed. But after a while it defaults to RTC time, maybe at logout. Or have the User actually work with an offset to real time?

*I could be wrong, I could easily be talking bollocks here.
