In my case, as described in this thread, the eight green flashes did not occur on every power up. With a new RPi5 where it happens, maybe the SDRAM really is faulty. And I had been using the RPi5 for a long time before the recent arrival of green LED flashes, and I’m not totally convinced yet that the new boot loader has solved the issue permanently…..
