Thank you all for the quick replies. To note, in my several attempts to reflash my microSD card, I did write-in the password query within the RPI Imager when configuring the setting. That's one of the reasons that I was certain that my username and password are correct. So technically it's currently factual to say that I chose the password "raspberry" as you explained @terribleted
In my /etc/ssh/sshd_config file, I did ensure that "PasswordAuthentication yes" exists and is not commented out, but I never checked for the "Match User someusername" as suggest by @pluffmud
I'm going to take a look at the news blogpost that covers the update to RPiOS Bullseye attempt the headless set-up from there as suggested by @B.Goode and return with my results, and provide my solution if solved.
