good day daer Raspi-experts hello everyone, :)

...i am thinking about to work on a solution to get a tool that provides me free Wi-Fi. Some of my friends told me that there is a certain pacakge - the so called "raspAP2025-package": this is an os, with special functionaliities. Well after having heard some thing bout this i wonder: is this a good valid product or tool for finding free Wi-Fi? What do you say.

Background: my friends recommended me the RaspAP since it (RaspAP - its said to be a open-source software that runs on devices like a Raspberry Pi to turn them into a wireless router).
Well so far so good: this sounds awesome - and i think i like the idea: but - does this Raspi-Programme fit the needs of a "(every-body") free networks. I would love to see a tool - i e. a travel companion that helps out here?!
How do you think about that idea: use a Raspberry Pi as a kind of a hmm let's say "Wi-Fi finder". That said I thought that we would be able to open a terminal and subsequently would be able to finally run the following command:

Code:

"sudo iwlist wlan0 scan"
With that we would be able to finally list all the available networks in the area. Besides that we should ( or let's say could ) be able or to use a on the pi installed graphical interface to see a list of detected networks. How do you like the idea?

Do you think that this would be a good and useful plan?

Hmm well I guess that we could do that: I think that it's possible to see the output that shows SSIDs, signal strength. I like the idea cause it should show also other details for each network, allowing us to do more. Well we could see which Wi-Fi networks are in range.

This would be a good start a interesting starting point. Well what do you think 🤔
Could we work from here with the rasAP - could we do that?

update: - i will try to read all about the topic i can get. Manpages, Documents and best practices. recommendations. and a lot more!!
i will try out some things - and i lll have to get more experienced.

Look forward to any and all tipps. :)
