How would I run chkdsk /f on Windows if the drive is not mounted?
By plugging it into a PC running MS WIndows. chkdsk /f is a windows command not a Linux one.
And, at least on Linux, the expectation is that when running one of the various fsck programs you do so with the partition unmounted.
