A post by Stephen Smith, confirms this and gives a solution: "To get good screen shots you need to switch from Wayland to X11 using raspi-config in the advanced menu. ". Well it works but it is kind of painful (a reboot) and the fonts are then not as readable as under Wayland which was to be expected.
