If memtester is failing in a standard configuration then unfortunately it suggests a problem with the memory / interface on this board.
I find that memory failures tend to cause the system to freeze with processes crashing rather than an immediate reset. There's no watchdog/heartbeat on Pi5 to cause the reset so I can't explain that behaviour.
