So at the top I did change to enable.off() and inverted all in1 and in2, nothing changed, motors never span.Ok. That seems very odd. Try modifying the test code to invert the sense of all the signals. i.e. to enable, set ENA1 off instead of on. Same for IN1 & 2. This does not match the motor controller data sheet, but something is odd.
Are you running Raspberry Pi OS?
Do you have any other hardware attached?
OS installed: Debian GNU/Linux 13 (trixie)
No any other hardware, just powering Pi 5 via USB and these 5 pins attached to motor controller.
