What I (and others on this thread) are saying is that it is not necessary, and OP seems to have mistakenly come to the conclusion that it is. The Pi Zero is not an embedded device such that cross-compilation is a needed thing.
Admitedly, if you are doing massive compilations - say, that old time favorite, re-compiling GCC - then there are productivity gains to be had from putting together a cross-compile environment - and, yes, the Zero is kinda slow - but for most (small) end-user type compilation tasks, it is fine.
