I haven't had this problem with Pi OS, when the Pi has this problem with Ubuntu I'll use the Pi Imager on Pi OS to reinstall Ubuntu. The operation of my Raspberry Pi 5 has not been consistent with Pi OS, there have been problems with Wi-Fi and USB ports temporarily ceasing to work.
