agree with above - probably your install on the SD card is corrupted (poweroff without shutting down can do that).
another thing to try: to verify the hardware is ok
- remove the SD card, power up. you should see the diagnostic display.
a couple of other notes:
1) many of the posts on this forum end up being the power supply. using the official supply is recommended.
2) same for the HDMI cable. adapters are not recommended, as some do not pass EDID data back to the PI.
