Personally, I recommend having just the one, unified filesystem with /boot populated as if /boot/firmware was separate, and point your tftpd to serve the files from that (ie, symlink /home/tftpboot/e443f420 -> /home/wisdom/pi_nfsroot/e433f420/boot/firmware). It's markedly less fragile IME.
