I can hear this however it's not like we change keyboard layout all the time... Oh this morning I will use an azerty... Oh this afternoon I prefer a qwerty ! We all have a single keyboard and keep using it even if we add users to the system. It doesn't change that file - instead it copies the keyboard config to a user-specific file in ~/.config/labwc. Changing the file in /etc leads to problems when that file is also updated in the package, so it is better to keep it clean.
Usually when you select a keyboard layout, it's here to stay, like the keyboard you plugged to your device... It's not a USB pendrive !
I mean it should not be such a hassle each time we create a new user.
Pis are no longer "only" computers for geeks willing to program a water pump or whatever...
More and more people use Pis like daily computers. I think it's time to take this into consideration.
How come a basic and personal choice made at install is not respected later on ?
How come almost all Linux desktop distros have a keyboard layout selector plugin in the taskbar and not Pis ?
