Thank you for pointing out my error in documentation. Fixed in post #1 (used SD Card Copier)How? Imager doesn't support direct clonig of an SD card.Used the RPI imager to clone the OS to the SSD. Shutdown. As stated, I used Rpi imager on Windows to place Trixie on the SD card. I am pretty sure Windows can make, let alone rear/write an ext4 partition. There was a change with Trixie so that ext4 partitions no longer get mounted automatically in the Desktop.Same HARDWARE. Running Bookworm, it sees/mounts the device. Running Trixie, it does not see the device.
Stated now. It wasn't stated when I quoted your post.
I'm guessing that you meant "can't" not "can". Imager doesn't create the partitions it just does a block level copy of the contents of the OS image (which includes partition information) to the target drive than writes customisation data to the FAT32 boot partition.
At no point does Windows have to deal with ext4.
