I am using a 2 layer board, but there are still Ground and 5v planes, and I made sure that the HDMI traces are short enough that the 100R impedance is not an issue. I will check if the HDMI is providing 5v, but if that is not the problem, how would I go about testing the EDID signals? Is your board a four layer board like the CM5IO board? Your differential pairs need a reference plane. On the CM5IO board every ground pin on the CM5 connectors has a via to the ground plane. Also when a signal changes between reference planes there is a ground via to link the reference planes close by. I'm not sure your 100R differential pairs are actually 100R. I suggest you study the layout of the CM5io board.
I would however actually expect it to still work. Do you have 5v on the HDMI connector? do you see the EDID signals change? Can you see the hot plug signal correct go high ?
