Just wondering, if like me, you were contemplating buying another RPi...... untill you realized how much extra this 'ram shortage' has put prices up?

But, for now, (I'm sorry to say), I won't be buying another, I'll just be staying with the ones I already have....
Your decision to not buy an additional (single) unit will make literally no difference to sales.

It always amazes me when someone says they're not going to buy a single unit and/or says their going to drop their small number of shares expecting that to make any difference to the company they're talking about.

Not saying it's so in this case but such a belief must be good for their ego.

Most Pi go to industrial customers. They'll almost certainly have to soak up or pass on the price increases. Redesigning their products to use something else will likely cost more in both money and time. And whatever they change to will just be hit with the same problem.

Hobbyists on the other hand may buy fewer but I don't see that making any difference as, speaking personally (though I doubt I'm unique), I haven't bought a new Pi since the 500+ launched and not since the Pi5 launched before that.
All good points. I did buy a couple of Pis after I got my Pi500+. I bought 2 Pi5-16GB boards. Fortunately--for my budget--I got them before the first price rise. I'm planning to get a couple pf Pi5-1GB, since those didn't exist previously. If and when someone reports actually getting Pi2B with the SoC with heat spreader, I'll get at least one of those. I'll also probably get at least one Pi4B with dual DRAM packages. I expect the most likely model to show up with be the 8GB boards.

So...while the higher prices may make it a bit tougher to sell Pis, I agree there isn't going to be much of a dent in overall sales.
