Masses of ram?!
The original object of the RPi was to introduce people to programming cheaply.
I didn't buy into RPi until it offered 1GB ram, which at the time could run a desktop system with internet access, the RPi3B, which could also boot from USB, (by changing a bit of code, if I remember, long time ago now).![Smile :)]()
Then came the RPi4B, with a choice of ram options, at the time, 2GB was enough for a desktop & internet usage, but I bought a 4GB unit to be on the safe side.
Now we have the RPi5 again with a choice of ram size, I decided this time to get the 8GB model, even though the 4GB would do, (I like to 'future proof' if I can afford to).![Very Happy :D]()
