Yes, I'm also bambalaya on Github. That must have been a typo, 31.25k should be.So you either try to set a custom baudrate using the UPF_SPD_CUST feature to get 31250 baud or you use the overlay and ask for 38400 baud. With the overlay, that whole set_custom_baudrate function in the bento_ttymidi bridge is unnecessary.
And I'm guessing you are @bambalaya on GitHub, since you both seem to think that MIDI runs at 312.5kbaud rather than the real value of 31.25kbaud.

Bento github indicates to have both active.
Even with just the overlay active, anyway, I can't get 31.25K baud on pins 14-15.
