Yes, I am using WIN11
Me too and this process is still working for me:
[HOWTO] Headless configuration of a Raspberry Pi using USB Ethernet Gadget on Bookworm
I recently verified the Windows 10/11 driver portion of the process here:
viewtopic.php?p=2353874#p2353874
And it worked for a Windows 11 Desktop, a Windows 11 VMware Virtual Machine, and a Windows 10 Laptop.
Doesn't work for me any more. There must be something different between our Win11 boxes.
The link Thagrol posted to the 'rpi-usb-gadget' repo does look very promising, I assume it's part of the effort to integrate the USB Gadget setup with the Raspberry Pi Imager customisation feature.
I don't have a Raspberry Pi with me at the moment to check, but running "rpi-usb-gadget-driver-setup.exe" might be all that's needed for Windows to detect the RPi Ethernet Gadget correctly:
https://github.com/raspberrypi/rpi-usb- ... tag/v1.0.6
It does look promising but with some limitations. If you want anything other than the provided network connections on the Pi you're on your own. So no mDNS for example. The other concern I have is it appears it relies on a particular VID and PID to get windows to use the correct driver. How's that going to work with custom composite gadgets (ethernet and mass storage for example)?
