You got me thinking and guess what I found. The Boot partition was write protected
so I've now managed to edit the file and will see if the edit works.

Yes under config settings the boot was read only . . . so now have edited and have remote access, albeit on a local network, via rVNC and the the view is 'fine'
So thanks for the push to use sudo. I had used that so it got me thinking and read up on config issues and that's where it dawned on me there is a setting to protect the boot from writes![Very Happy :D]()
